How are number of days on CarGurus counted?

A vehicle can be sold from one dealership to another, or change locations between partnering dealerships. We display both the number of days that the car has been at the current dealer lot (# days at the dealership) and the total number of days the car has been for sale on CarGurus (# days on CarGurus).
